SSR Selfie

For SSR Selfie I read  a book called The stone keeper curse it is a nonfiction book.
SSR stands for Sustained Silent Reading.
The person who wrote this book also drew the pictures.
it was a good and interesting book there were action in it and that's why I liked it.
The book was about a girl and her grandfather went missing and she found him in a different world.

Cook Island language week

I have completed a Cook Island challenge because it is Cook Island language week.  The task that I completed was how to say numbers in Cook Island.

First I created a google slide for where I am going to put my pictures of numbers.

Next I was learning how to say the numbers in Cook Island.

Lastly I recorded my self saying the number up to ten.

This challenge was very good because I learnt a new language to count in.

Literal language means a sentence with no hidden message a example the pen is red.
Figurative language means a sentence with a hidden message example break a leg.
A simile is a sentence that compares something using like or as.
A metaphor is comparing two things without using like or as.
A hyperbole is when you exaggerate.
A personification giving a human trait to objects or ideas.
A understatement is a expression with less strength than expected.

Swimming

Today my group practised water safety skills at the lagoon pools.

The first skill my group practice was kicking to kick well they used small kicks and straight leg.

Then my group practised streamline to do that skill well they had to keep their body straight and small kicks.

Lastly they practised submerging they were aloud to do their own swim up they did dolphin dive freestyle.

It looked like so much fun next time I will remember to pack my togs.

Rahi and the Patupaiarehe

This week we were learning to summarise.
We also needed to link visualisation and inference to help us.
We filled in a story web to summarise each part of the story.
I used my visualisation from week 1 to help separate the parts of the story.
I used my character inference  traits to use adjectives and evidence to help summarise different parts.
Using good adjectives unlocks meaningful information and I can summarise quicker.
Connecting all 3 strategies helped me to understand the story, character and keywords.
