Kiwi sports

This week I practised three man settle and two man settle.

First I did three man settle. It's when one person with the ball runs forwards and gets touch.

Then the second person runs and passes the ball to the third person.

After that I did two man settle. It's when one person run forwards and gets touch.

Then the second person runs and passes the ball to the person who got touched.

After we did a touch rugby game. We were split into three different group two teams play and one team subs.

I had fun using three and two man settle in the game because it gets us down the field faster.

Touch rugby

For kiwi sports we practice skills for touch rugby.

A two man settle is when the person with the ball plants it. Then the person behind him picks it up and passes the ball back.

A three man settle is when the person with the ball plants it. The dummy-half comes and picks up the ball and then passes the ball to the third person.

A three man settle is when one person plants the ball. Then second person grabs the ball and then passes it to the third person.

Learning these skills helped to get down the field faster.

Inter school touch rugby tournament

On Wednesday some people from ls1 and ls2 went to Dunkirk Reserve for a friendly touch rugby tournament. The competition was split into year 5, year 6, year 7, year 8 different year groups.

I played in the year 5 team. The first team we vs was Sylvia park we lost to them by 5 nil.

We talked about what we had to work on. We had to work on spreading out on the field and all of us not running after the person with the ball.

Then we vs st Patrick it was a draw the scores were 1 to 1. We did really well it was just people saying  negative words to each other.

After that we vs Sylvia park 2 it was a draw the scores were 3 to 3. We did good we just had to practice our catching.

Lastly we vs Stone field we lost the score was 5 to 0.

It was challenging and I learned new skills in touch rugby.

Swimming

Today my group practised water safety skills at the lagoon pools.

The first skill my group practice was kicking to kick well they used small kicks and straight leg.

Then my group practised streamline to do that skill well they had to keep their body straight and small kicks.

Lastly they practised submerging they were aloud to do their own swim up they did dolphin dive freestyle.

It looked like so much fun next time I will remember to pack my togs.

Kiwi sports

At kiwi sport we learned basic drills like setting for volleyball. To set put the right leg in front of the left leg. Next put hands in a diamond shape over the head.
