Sporcle Challenge

L.I To create an DLO about the Sporcle Challenge.

The DLO showing above was worked collaboratively with my partner. We wrote what we enjoyed and what the challenge is. We first went onto the website and read the introductions to understand what the game is about and How we can play. We also then find quizzes that gives us more understanding into learning what the topic is about.

Tatau

LI: To create a DLO that tells others about tatau.

Tattooing has played an important part in many cultures over time. Our challenge was to use our smart searching skills to find out about traditional tattooing in our own culture. I really enjoyed doing this task as I get to learn a lot more about my Culture. I also really liked working with my partner as we shared our ideas and worked collaborative. The most interesting fact I learnt was some people do tatting to represent their culture. My partner and I used our searching skills to find facts and information about tattooing and what it means to our culture.

Inside the museum I learned a lot of cool things and I was really interested in learning about Maori. I really liked playing with sticks also learning the Kai Haka and played a lot of cool games with our teachers.

Leadership

L.I to unpack what a leader looks like.

We unpacked the meaning of leadership and what it takes to be a leader. We wrote down the meaning of 4 different words team, leadership, role model, and responsibility which are all good qualities to have as a leader. We listed as many words as possible linked to leadership. Using these words we created a 25 word summary explaining what a leader is.

After this we made a collaborative DLO explaining all the subjects we learnt in the session. In my group was Fau, Chisa, Vayan, Azatulah, and Ong.

LS2 Favourites Colours

Today me and Hosea made a pie chart. Me and Hosea made a chart of LS2's favourite colours. The colours that were chosen were Red, Blue, Black, Purple, Bby-blue, Green, Pink and Peach but Blue and Black had the most votes. As me and Hosea were going around we both predicted Blue because we were one of the people that chose that colour as well. Me and Hosea really enjoyed making this pie chart because we learnt a lot about what LS2's favourite colours are.

Summary of Te Tiriti O Waitangi

LI: To explain in fewer words what the text is about.

This week our reading groups were practising the summary skill by writing 20 keywords, then finding the 6 most picking six keywords out of the 20 written. After this, we wrote a summary paragraph using the six words we chose.  write a paragraph by using the 6 more important words. This DLO

We read an article about The Treaty of Waitangi. On the 6th of February 1840, Te Tiriti O Waitangi was signed by the Maori chiefs. The treaty was in three different articles. Te Tiriti O Waitangi was made to get protection and have peace between the British and Aotearoa. People protested for equal rights.

When we picked out the 20 keywords, we used the article to find the words we thought were the most important to the topic.

I enjoyed this activity because I understood more about the The  Treaty of Waitangi.
